BiodiversityBracketology! NCAA Tournament Features Endangered Species

The college sports world’s annual celebration of the madness of March–the NCAA men’s basketball tournament–is underway and is again a celebration of species! From gators to owls to panthers to wolverines, there is a species for everyone to root for.
Of the 64 teams granted entry to this year’s NCAA tournament, 22 owe their names to a federally protected species.  To make it easy for you to keep track of them, we’ve put together the 2011 ESC Biodiversity Bracket.
After you’ve downloaded the bracket and made your picks, vote for the protected species represented team you’ll be cheering for. When the winner has been crowned, we’ll pick a voter who correctly chose the species/team to win a swanky Patagonia designed ESC t-shirt!
