Biodiversity in The Land of Enchantment
New Mexico ranks 5th in the nation in biodiversity. New Mexico is home to 7 different ecoregions (Level III). This unique landscape means that The Land of Enchantment is home to a diverse list of plant and animal life.
Protecting Pollinators and People
Pollinators are important to New Mexico’s agriculture, biodiversity, and food security. Unfortunately, pollinator numbers are declining due to climate change, habitat loss, and irresponsible pesticide use.
Pollinators are the essential workers of our food supply system. Just like humans, their right to migration and survival is important and in desperate need of our protection.
We are working hard to bridge the gap between environmental justice and social justice to ensure that all communities benefit from a justly biodiverse world.
