That’s exactly why my good friend Pete McCloskey and I came together, one Democrat and one Republican, to create the Endangered Species Act and pass it as a good piece of bipartisan legislation that would do something to help this country. I’ve always said that no generation inherits this earth, we simply borrow it from future generations, and this common-sense policy helps to embrace that fact and preserve our future.
