Celebrate saving species
Every year on the third Friday in May, thousands of people around the world participate in Endangered Species Day by celebrating, learning about, and taking action to protect threatened and endangered species. This global day of action and celebration was created and founded by David Robinson and the Endangered Species Coalition in 2006, and has continued ever since.
On Endangered Species Day 2026, wildlife refuges, gardens, schools, libraries, museums, community groups, nonprofits, and individuals will hold special programs or events. People around the world participate in these activities and others. Join us in celebrating Endangered Species Day on Friday, May 15th and throughout the month of May!
All About Wolves Lesson Plan
This five-day unit plan by A-Z Animals is designed specifically for elementary-aged children. Students will delve deeper into the mysterious yet fascinating world of wolves, unique members of our beloved canine family. Students will explore where wolves live, their carnivorous diets and abilities to hunt large mammals, their family structures, physical characteristics of wolves, and how they are portrayed in fairy tales and legends.
