Endangered Species Day 2026: Friday, May 15th

Celebrating America’s Wildlife Comeback Stories. Championing the Endangered Species Act.

On Friday, May 15, and throughout the month of May, people across the country will come together to celebrate the Endangered Species Act and the threatened and endangered species the law helps protect.

This year’s event marks the 21st Annual Endangered Species Day, now celebrated globally to mark the importance of protecting threatened and endangered wildlife and their habitats.

It’s the perfect time to plan an event or activity in your community. Whether it’s in person or virtual, big or small, your participation helps build momentum for wildlife and inspires others to take action.

Organize an Event

Chalk Art Contest

Host a screening of Welcome Home.

This inspiring film highlights how Coloradans helped bring wolves back to the state and explores the thoughtful, community-minded approach to restoring this iconic species.

Pollinator Garden
