Love Letters Workshop October 6th, 2022

In this time of accelerating species loss, making time to express the love we have for the natural world is an important way to reconnect to the wildlife, plants, and ecosystems we care so much about.

In partnership with interdisciplinary artist Valerie Constantino, Endangered Species Coalition is offering a free virtual creative art and science workshop that will provide you with space to reconnect to the wild. The workshop is called Love Letters. We’ll build off of the traditional concept of  a love letter  – a written expression of one’s love for another – and explore through words and images the emotions that arise in response to the endangerment of particular species. Join us on Thursday, October 6th at 5:30 PT/6:30 MT/7:30 CT/8:30 ET!

Artist BIO

Valerie Constantino is an interdisciplinary artist and writer working with a range of traditional and contemporary hybrid art forms. Seminal studies in textiles sparked her research into the nature of material itself, particularly as it illuminates the shared susceptibilities of all living forms.

Valerie received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is an exhibiting artist, a published writer and a lecturer at Sacramento State University with a record of notable awards in support of her creative work. In response to our collective earthly condition, she writes: My concern for the indeterminacy of being has been at the heart of my artistic pursuits since the beginning. And I think now, its significance in lieu of the precarious states of global ecologies and affairs is more apparent than ever.
